Rickety tables, rusted sawblades, and worn barn doors are all forgotten items and empty space. These become my substrates. Each thoughtfully pulled from thrift stores or barns. The timeworn character of these surfaces matches the charm of the rural imagery of my paintings. During the creation of this work, I reflect on the appreciation for where I have been, where I am now, and the curiosity that drives me forward.
